One year, twelve months, 52 weeks, 365 days… phrase it however you wish it never seems long enough. As we age it feels the years, months, weeks & days become shorter. Yet we are always faced with January 1st, the day of reckoning when we try to work out how we can build on the year that has just passed.
The dreaded resolutions which notoriously never get off the ground. Starting the year feeling we’ve failed and might as well continue along the road that’s already well trodden. Thinking that a leopard never changes its spots and a little lost in what society perceives we ‘should’ be and not seeing who we are and why. Understanding how we’ve grown into the person we’ve become. The highs and lows, the good decisions along with the questionable ones and how in turn these have led us to being the person we are today.
Often looking for something that gives us purpose but never questioning who that purpose is for. Is it self-growth or recognition? Is it to make part of you feel more nourished or simply for the ‘like’s’?
For me, 2026 is about both self-growth, nourishment and doing the things I love. To find my voice, dig a little deeper and live presently of every hour, every day, of this year.
